At home base
I find sports to be an outlet
Somewhere I can go to escape
The real world and all it's struggles

When I put on physical protection
And step onto the field
I also have internal protection
And put away all my worries and fears
That I carry in that moment

In sports, your team becomes your second family
During the pandemic, I taught my cousin how to throw a football
Growing up, they didn't have anyone athletic other than me
To share those moments with

Sports are my home base
It's where I go to feel the most at home
